Guaranteed Ride Home

Commuters who carpool, vanpool, bike or use transit and are unable to catch their normal ride home due to unexpected events (illness, unscheduled overtime, etc) can receive a free Guaranteed Ride Home from Georgia Commute Options.

For Commuters Who Work Outside Metro Atlanta

Sign up today, and you may qualify for up to five (5) trips home or to your car from work each year if an unexpected event occurs. Please note, you must fill out, sign and return your application, as well as receive enrollment confirmation, before using the service. To sign up for the program serving commuters and employers in metro Atlanta*, print the Program Application and Agreement for enrollment.

Federal funding for the Guaranteed Ride Home program is provided through the Georgia Department of Transportation.

A separate program is available to commuters who:

  • work in Athens, Augusta, Columbus, Dalton, Macon, Rome or surrounding areas and;
  • work for employers who have officially partnered with The Clean Air Campaign on a Georgia Commute Options program and; 
  • are enrolled in Georgia Commute Options incentives programs 

The Clean Air Campaign provides reimbursement for the costs of a ride from work to an employee’s home (or to their car) via taxi, rental car or private vehicle for eligible commuters who carpool, vanpool, take transit, walk or bike to work.  Simply complete reimbursement request and submit with original fare receipt within 7 days.


*Service area includes the following counties: Barrow, Bartow, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Spalding, Walton
